This Sunday we celebrate 5 years together, 1 year married. I have known Tom since I was 19 and just starting college. Amazing.

29 before 30

next year i will be 30. pause.
inspired from elsiecake at a beautiful mess, i am attempting to reach 29 goals before 30. unfortunately (or not) the only one i am certain about at this time is that i want to get a tattoo. wink.
this post is my commitment to come up with 28 more goals so that i can start crossing them off the list. be back with more soon.

looking towards summer

another month until summer solstice, it is so warm here in the sip. i am looking towards summer and preparing for the heat. buggy nights and the summer cicada buzz that fills the air and makes sleep feel like a very temporary proposition. except on those days that you spend at the river and are too exhausted to do anything other than sleep or smooch.

i recently made a few onsies for easter- i wanted to document them and also be able to put them up on etsy. and i wanted some cute photos of my not-so-willing model. minutes before our “photo shoot”, i gave nic his first hair cut so he was a little freaked out.
here are a few of the cute ones…
he was really only happy once i brought his radio flyer roadster out.

the following photo is right before a total melt down. you can see it coming right? whose hand is holding him back? and from what?

medgar evers blvd. west jackson.
photos taken from the car because my son was in the back seat.

the word full gospel baptist church. (no church today.)

medgar evers blvd. this is the road that you have to drive down if you want to apply for food stamps in hinds county. above are some of the places that you may pass on the way there. you must first cross over woodrow wilson bridge and on into west jackson. veer right onto medgar evers blvd.
all places have history but you don’t always know the stories. mississippi, and jackson in particular, has a well-documented history. because of the civil war. because of the civil rights movement. it is interesting to live in a place where so much is known about what the past so specifically held.
